If you can appreciate 'silent' movies that tell a non-action story, rent or even buy (I have to own my books and movies) this gem of a movie. It's over 20 years old, yet, at least in my humble opinion, it hasn't aged. I have to watch it at least once a year and I still get the same 'vibes' from it that I got 20 years ago. It's a magical, beautiful story about friendship and love and life and what makes us human - and so much more. Wonderful cast.

Thank you so much, Brigitte! Do try to watch it, a wonderful Marianne Sägebrecht as "Bayrisches Urgestein" crashes into a truck-stop cafe in the middle of desert-nowhere-America. Hilarious scenes, very touching scenes, the movie doesn't end with death.
Thank you, Suzanne! I think it's such a sweet movie. The beginning is so surreal, after the fight with her husband, walking, in her Loden costume and hat with feathers, tugging trolley, through the middle-of-nowhere-desert-America. I knew right then that I'd love it.

They are so much more like real people.
