Two cemetery stories:1. Yesterday, as the weather was gorgeous, I went out with my camera. Took some photos of the church in tour little town, then went to the cemetery. All of those places are about five minutes from my home, there are about 1200 people living here. Okay, I spent about 45 minutes at the cemetery, there were a few people tending their loved ones' graves, I minded my own business and took photos here and there. The uploads today are all from that photo session. I left the place, walking home slowly. When I arrived at my home, I opened my photo bag, looking for my keys. Suddenly the sound of a stopping car behind me. Guess what? It was the freaking police!!!! and the cop wanted to talk to me!!!

He was very friendly though, asked me if I was the woman who was just taking photos at the cemetery a few minutes ago. Why, yes! Is there a law against it that I'm not aware of??? He smiled and said no, all okay. A woman had considered me "funny", taking photos there and she had nothing better to do than to go to the police station.....which is about one minute (by foot) from the cemetery. Big whew! I'm one of those people who turn down the volume of the radio/cd player when they see a police car, so you can imagine where my heart went, turning around, seeing a cop!

2. Today I finally went to visit Europe's second largest cemetery. The Wiener (Viennese) Zentralfriedhof (central cemetery). I'm 44, lived in Vienna from my birth until December 1, 2001 (with a couple very short breaks), since then I'm about 30 to 40 minutes away from the cemetery - and today was the first time I was there!

This had been in planning for the longest time and today was the day. I planned to spend an hour or two there. Charged my camera and off I went. *5 1/2* freaking hours and around 300 photos later one of the big entrance doors spit me out again.

I wore my high heeled boots again. :shakesheadatherselfyetagain: Nothing to drink, nothing to eat (I hadn't eaten anything at all before either), I totally lost time in there. And I've probably seen 1% of the cemetery. FINALLY I visited Falco's grave (he's only been dead for 10 years, you know)! If you don't like what I've uploaded so far today, you won't like what will come the next couple of days either...sorry about that!

We'll meet again, Zentralfriedhof!
